Accommodation in Cabarete, Dominican Republic
There is a great array of accommodation options both in Cabarete and the surrounding areas, for any length of stay. You can find everything from basic rooms for those on a tight budget, to luxurious & modern ocean front condominiums, to private homes and villas in gated communities. It's important that you try and consider all of the things you might want to take part in/enjoy during your stay before deciding on an accomodation option.
For example, if all you want to do is kiteboard and relax in the evenings, staying at Kite Beach may be your best option. The same holds true if you want to surf. You might want to consider getting something near Encuentro. But it is really best to ensure you take into consideration everything you might wish to do on your holiday. If you are not renting a car and plan on visiting Cabarete frequently for shopping, restaurants, nightlife, etc., it is important to remember that there are less transportation options in the evening, they are more expensive, and travelling at night is less safe than travelling during the day.
Some people may think a spot located outside of town is ideal because it is more peaceful, less busy, etc. (and can be relatively less expensive than right in town). Others might become frustrated by this same place due to the expense and time it takes them to travel back and forth from Cabarete.
